The last time mankind was this close to annihilation was during the Age of Enlightenment, when Earth saw the emergence of alien races who seemingly came from nowhere, in an instant changing the world in ways no one could imagine. A long time ago, worlds were seized with panic, as factions fought for control. The world became a harsh and violent place, and no one was sure who was friend and who was foe. Riddled with radiation, our home planet was unable to support life. Then, humanity’s only hope was the Colonial Defense Fleet, one of several fleets spread throughout the system.
As a member of the Colonial Defense Fleet, you are sent on missions to the outer rim to protect the colonies and explore the galaxy.
You travel on a deep-space vessel, your fate resting in your hands and the last support of your superiors, a woman nicknamed Soya.
Starcom: Nexus is a sci-fi open-world RPG with platforming elements. You are in charge of building a better ship, taking out enemies, and completing missions. Use your skill, and the resources around you, to discover a new universe!
About the Development Team
Zombie Film Productions is based in Montreal, with offices in Paris and Ukraine.
The studio consists of a team of 50 people coming from many different backgrounds, with a combined 20 years of experience working on a wide range of games.
The game was written by Alexandre Monsigny (Biohacker / Starcom), while Jean-François Pépin was director and designer, with the help of a team of writers and artists. Jean-Marc Richard, Céline Valois, Jean-Philippe Caille, Denis Soucy and Laurent Héroux were the artists and designers of the game.
The music and sound design was composed by Alexandre Monsigny.

Quhquela does NOT take place in the Quietus, a storied trading post/dungeon where characters may engage in activities without consent. Quakuel will take place within the game world, in an area with a floating tower, floating cities, planets, and a racial variety of races. All characters may engage in activities without consent, but Quakuel is not a guide to that dynamic.

Quakuel Gameplay
Quhquela is designed for 1 – 6 characters of all races, and is fully co-op-able. Quakuel does not have a locking singular player system, so it is designed for multiple players to interact with each other.
Companions
Quhquela can support up to 6 characters, and can take the form of a Base, Guardian, or Companion.
Base: Mainly a fetch quest for loot and exercise, while supporting players with minor tasks. Base is able to engage in activities without consent.
Guardian: Players that contribute to the story. Guardians have a more complex set of interactions with the game world. They can engage in activities without consent, and provide minor bonus effects for the party.
Companion: Players that provide background and interactivity for the party. Companions can engage in activities without consent, but they cannot provide lore, or have a deeper impact on the story.
Quhquela will have many unique companions, but they will largely have the same character model. Companions will have a variety of types and affects, and can affect gameplay in ways that are unique to each companion type.

The Repairing Mantis is divided into six large chapters, only to be interrupted at the end by a two-minute prologue.
Each chapter is made up of several small gameplay areas, with a fairly simple goal to each of them. Your goals include: find contact lenses, retrieve missing information, and blow up a nuclear bomb. Some chapters have several key requirements in order to progress to the next area.
The chapters alternate between portraying you in a first-person viewpoint and third-person (right-handed or left-handed view, depending on the game).
The chapters flow together seamlessly, and present a lot of narrative and visual variation for each scene.
There is minimal dialogue throughout the entire game, but you get to say a number of things that you can tailor in a speech bubble, and a majority of these have a lasting impact on the chapter’s ending.
At any time you can press the Y button to enter the ship’s controls. The controls are simple and responsive, although they require a bit of practice to master, since you are quite often locked into a certain direction in certain situations.
The Repairing Mantis was made by a small team of individuals (four in total), and as such, the attention to detail is definitely there. The artistic direction is similar to that of Prey, and the concept behind it is equally flawed in the same way.
The game was originally funded on Kickstarter, and gained almost $50,000 in funding. Unfortunately, the budget for the game was far smaller than that, and the developer has since shut down the game’s development in order to work on the other projects he has in development.

The Repairing Mantis is an extremely ambitious and time-consuming game, but it does not manage to sustain the momentum and excitement of most successful Kickstarter projects.
For the most part, the gameplay is pretty good. The game has a fair amount of replay value in that you can spend as long as you wish completing each one of its six chapters (plus two short prologue chapters). The chapters are quite varied in theme, though the small variation between each chapter is enough to keep the gameplay fresh.

Moving a couple of years ago, being idle for quite a while, we decided to give this a shot by having the house repainted. Quite a few coats of paint later, which from the heating system parts, to the trim, we are finally enjoying the hardwood floors and cabinets.
This is what our living area looked like when the house was restored, in the pictures which follow, you can see that each room has a make over. Our small back yard, which is probably 2×4, really takes on a new and drastically different look.
The ultimate result is that even the toys, coffee table and chairs can be enjoyed from the ‘kitchen’, or the bathroom or the wintergarden and thusly we simply love where we live in.
